Inspired by music, color, texture, and the human form, Courtney Jacobs toggles between creating non-figurative and figurative works. As she paints, Jacobs pushes, scrapes, drips, and throws the paint to create a visual history of her own response to these complex, chaotic elements. It is an active process, intermingling various elements (line, spatter, drip, brush stroke, and squiggle) into one final composition. Her work is shown at Dennis Rae Fine Art in San Francisco, California and Artspace Gallery in Livermore, California. Courtney received her MFA from Academy of Art University in 2008 and has since received many awards, including Best in Show from AbstractExposure.com.
