A highly accomplished sculptor, Carol Tarzier focuses her talents on bronze figures, while also reaching out to the fields of abstract sculpture, oil painting, and pastels. Centering the aesthetic of her widely exhibited sculpture on the gestural lines of the human figure, Tarzier is equally inspired by color shaping light and form on canvas. Tarzier’s influential public commissions include the C.L. Dellums Commemorative Sculpture at Jack London Square Amtrak Station in Oakland, California and the George Hasslein Memorial Sculpture Project at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. Tarzier has also been awarded the National Sculpture Society’s Gold Medal, Maurice B. Hexter Prize, and Alex J. Ettl Grant; and the John Cavanaugh Memorial Award for Figurative Sculpture. Currently, Tarzier’s artwork is represented by the Dennis Rae Fine Art in San Francisco, California, and the Epperson Gallery in Crockett, California.
