Cynthia Hamilton has a BS in Education from Eastern Illinois University as well as a BFA in Fashion Illustration and a BFA in Illustration from Academy of Art University. After 10 years creating art for Electronic Arts and Crystal Dynamics in the computer game industry, Hamilton concentrated on perfecting her paintings and has been exhibited in a variety of galleries across the nation. Her work has been seen in The New York Society of Illustrators, Pastel Society of the West Coast, Oil Painters of America Western Regional shows, The Salon at Crooked Tree, the Waterhouse Gallery figurative, small works and cityscape shows, The Studio Gallery, The Greenhouse Salon International, Artists of Distinction at the Santa Barbara Museum, Edward Montgomery Gallery in Carmel and the Woodside Gallery. Her thirst for travel has enabled her to paint in Provence, Tuscany, Venice, and China, as well as Maine, Wyoming, Texas, Vermont, Florida, New Mexico and many locations in California. Comfortable with figures, landscapes and still life, Hamilton's work has been described as a "new impressionism," exploring color, composition, paint texture and brushwork. She is sought after by Midwest to west coast collectors, and is a rising new star.
