This community centers its identity in promoting the awareness of gender equity and women’s rights through student programming, open discussion, interactive learning, and empowering residents to embrace leadership opportunities on campus and in the community. The staff is dedicated to the advocacy, education, and support to both women and men with the interest of sustaining an inclusive and equitable campus and community.

The Coco Chanel Female Residence Hall at 1916 Octavia is a beautiful mansion with a wide spiral staircase and hardwood floors. The residence hall is located in Pacific Heights near Lafayette Park, a perfect place for jogging, relaxing, picnics, sketching, drawing, or taking photographs.

The quiet, residential setting of this community includes a beautiful front garden and a serene courtyard in the backyard. Shared rooms are available at this hall and have both private and shared bathrooms. The residence hall has a study room with computer kiosks available for student use. Residents can also enjoy the ping-pong pool, along with cable TV and video game equipment in the student lounge area.

The hall also includes a large common kitchen & dining room with locked cabinet and refrigerator space for student use. Students are responsible for their own meals.
