As a Web Design & New Media student, you will begin your professional career on day one. Starting with first semester class projects, you will begin developing Web Design & New Media fundamental skills based on industry standards.
Learning the newest software is not enough to be a visionary in the current technological revolution. You must also withstand the fads with every digital discovery. Led by a faculty of working designers, students use the latest technology to realize their own vision – bridging the gap between programmer and artist.

Spring Show – With an exhibition of fresh and original work, Academy of Art University's Spring Show draws crowds of industry professionals each year. Web Design & New Media students showcase their best work in areas such as motion graphics, digital imaging and illustration and web and interactive design. Students show their portfolios and interview with representatives from companies like Facebook, Sony, Zynga, Apple and others.
Awards & Real-World Projects – Students in the web design graduate school are frequent winners in media design industry competitions like the Adobe Design Achievement Awards and the Webbies. With a reputation for winning work, students of the School of Web Design & New Media are sought out for collaborative projects while they are still in school. Students develop best industry practices by participating in collaborative projects with non-profit organizations.
