Professional Opportunities
As a Motion Pictures & Television student, you will begin your professional career on day one. Starting with first semester class projects, you will begin telling stories with a camera and editing digital footage. As you advance though the program you will learn to put it all together for a demo reel.

Epidemic Film Festival and Spring Show – With an exhibition of fresh and original work, Academy of Art University's Spring Show and the School of Motion Pictures & Television’s Epidemic Film Festival draws crowds of industry professionals each year. Motion Pictures & Television students showcase their best work in areas such as producing, directing, cinematography, lighting, sound, editing, screenwriting and production design.
Career & Entrepreneurial Services – Students prepare for entry into the professional workforce by taking advantage of the Career & Entrepreneurial Development department’s onsite and online workshops. See more.
Topics include: Job Search Strategies, Resumes & Cover Letters, Entrepreneurship: Starting Your Own Business, Networking & Interviewing Techniques.
In addition, online office hours and career service chats offer opportunities for students to get individual career counseling, advice on resume and interview expectations, portfolio tips, hiring standards, industry trends and networking techniques.
All registered students, graduates, and alumni have access to the daily updated job board, where companies post internships, freelance, full time and part time positions.
Industry Relationships & Events – Throughout each semester, the School of Motion Pictures & Television participates in industry events and brings respected professionals in the film industry to campus. Students benefit from lectures and artist presentations by top filmmakers.
