School of Graphic Design

Academy of Art University’s School of Graphic Design looks beyond the role of graphic design in commerce and explores the discipline as a cultural force and vehicle for social action. This approach brings breadth to students’ studies and encourages them to pursue more substantial work.

The curriculum offers advanced studies that integrate practice, theory and inquiry, while refining and encouraging innovation, critical thinking, visual literacy and conceptual problem solving. Students employ their command of technique to influence marketing strategies, raise awareness of critical issues and facilitate cultural change.
