Academy Illustration Students Learn Directly From the Classics
At Academy of Art University's School of Illustration, students learn from a wide breadth of
resources. James Barbour teaches his students in Ill. 221, Intermediate Figure Drawing, amongst the
cast collection of the Classics Studies in Berkeley. Students were learning about classical
proportion, anatomy, contraposto, from works that were casts of originals in the Parthenon and
collections of European museums.
