Distinguished Alumni Share Stories of Success at Bangkok Open House
The room was packed with students and alumni at a recent open house and panel discussion about
Academy of Art University in Bangkok, Thailand. Open house attendees interested in learning
more about the school’s programs were treated to presentations from well-known alumni and Academy
representatives who additionally reviewed portfolios and gave helpful feedback.
The panel shared their experiences and perspective and spoke about the knowledge they
acquired at the Academy and how they’ve continued on to use those skills to be successful
professionals. Saifa Setabutr, now an executive producer in the television and movie
industry, worked briefly as an actor after he graduated from the Academy. Saifa has directed
and produced numerous projects, including the famous television series
Detective Game Show.

Wisuthakul, and Karn Boondarick
Academy alumnus Wisarut Wisuthakul spoke about how he has used the skills he perfected at the
Academy of Art University’s Interior Architecture & Design program to bring a unique interior
design perspective to a variety of projects both in the U.S. and internationally. Karn
Boondarick is an alumnus who, in addition to teaching at Bangkok University & Turakitbandit
University, works as the exhibit design director at Lubid Studio Co, Ltd, the design firm he
founded with other Academy of Art University alumni. Bangkok stylist Chalisa Viravan is
another alumna who lent her expertise to the distinguished panel and helped review attendee
portfolios.

The event gave attendees, parents and friends a chance to learn about the Academy’s
incredible programs while networking with others with similar interests in art and design.
The alumni were happy to give back to the university that helped shape their successful careers.
Academy representative Apawan Subphaso was thrilled with the success of the event, “It was an
incredible opportunity for people interested in the Academy’s programs to learn more about the
high-quality education offered at the Academy and to hear from alumni who have gone on to great
success in their careers as artists and designers.”
