Fashion Students Wins LG Mobile Contest
In celebration of their first sponsorship of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, LG Mobile Phones gave
fashion design students the opportunity to compete for a internship with a famous designer and
$5,000 cash in the 'Fashion Talks with LG Contest'.
Students currently enrolled full-time at any of the participating Fashion Design schools were
eligible to submit sketches of their original designs inspired by the 'LG Life's Good' theme and
must include an LG Mobile Phone as an accessory, or integral part of the design. The contest
consisted of a series of three rounds. In the final round, the grand prize winner was determined by
the number of votes their design received during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week as visitors to the
LG's "Life's Good Lounge" voted for their favorite design.
An Academy of Art University student won 1st place.
Ji In Kim, MFA Fashion and Textiles won $5000 and an internship with an LA
Jung Yeon Hong (MFA Fashion and Knitwear) and
Staci Snider (MFA Fashion Design) were both selected as finalists for the
competiton and event.
