New Liberal Arts Class Offered on Film Theory

The School of Motion Pictures & Television and the Liberal Arts department are proud to announce an exciting new class for the Fall semester. The class is titled "The Silver Screen & the Ivory Tower: Film Theory & Analysis," and will be taught by Instructor Matt Levie. The course number is LA 499.

This course will introduce students to the fundamental scientific and political underpinnings of film theory. It will address major questions and conflicts in film theory: realism and illusion, auteurism and collaboration, art and entertainment, and feminist and Marxist film theory. Connecting theory to practice, the course will present film theory as a living, breathing area of study.

The course will be offered Tuesdays, from 8:30am to 11:20am. If you're interested, call your advisor today to enroll now!
