New Multi-Use Auditorium Benefits Academy Students
Construction on the new auditorium at 79 New Montgomery was completed just in time to immediately
be put to work for a busy fall semester. The stage and seating area, which seats approximately 150,
is used to teach movement and acting and to serve the general Academy community.
Respect for Acting, Acting Technique & Process, Directed Study and Acting Audition classes
are a few examples of the classes that utilize the auditorium. The multi-use space is also used to
show and discuss important films every Friday night and for visiting speakers and guests.
Director of Acting Diane Baker says, "Actors must learn acting in a professional space - a real
theater environment will give actors a sense of the professional world they have entered into."
