Academy of Art University Students Showcase Photographs of the Marin Headlands
With its rolling hills and stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands is one of
the San Francisco Bay Area’s local natural treasures. Academy of Art University
Photography students captured the Marin Headlands’
sweeping vistas culminating in Marin Headlands: A Photographic Journey, an exhibition that will be
on display from August 9 until the end of the month.
The show features the work of
ValJean Anderson, Connie Begg, Tricia Buchhorn, Angela deVille, Cassandra Montalvo, Kimberly
Mowbray and Mark Slovenz, students from the Summer Semester
MFA course The
Photography Intensive. In its fifth year running, the course is designed around creating a series
of photographs working within the confines of a single location – the Marin Headlands. Each student
was challenged to create their own visual resolution of their experience photographing the Marin
Headlands.
An Opening Reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the
Academy of Art University Gallery located at 688 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA. Gallery Hours
are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
