Academy Alums’ Film is Favored

Academy of Art University’s Daniel Lahr and Patrick Lawler’s film titled "Fortune's Favored" has been selected for the 27th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival, which runs until February 5, 2012. “I wanted this movie to be able to touch on [California history] and yet still resonate with a modern audience,” said Lahr, the film’s director. “And so, with the current economic climate, I opted to set the movie in the Great Depression.” Lawler, the Director of Photography, was a classmate of Lahr's at Academy of Art University's School of Motion Pictures & Television in San Francisco, where they both graduated with BFA degrees.
