Academy of Art University has Positive Economic Impact on Bay Area

Academy of Art University generated an economic impact of $579 million last year in the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area, up from $500 million in 2009. Of the $579 million, $316 million represented spending by on-campus students, while spending by the school accounted for $263 million. Elisa Stephens, President of the University since 1992 and granddaughter of its founder, said in a news release: “The success of the Academy is a reflection of the success our students are having at getting jobs in their field of study and the end result is a win for all involved - the Bay Area, the business community and Academy of Art University students.”
