Fine Art Instructor Exhibits “Explorations and Moods”
Academy of Art University School of Fine Art instructor Donald Archer is showcasing his “Explorations and Moods” at Cambria Center for the Arts in San Luis Obispo, California, now through March 3, 2013. In addition to numerous solo and group exhibitions in museums and commercial galleries, Archer is a member emeritus of “The Oak Group.” His paintings have been featured in “American Artist” and “Southwest Art” magazines as well as six books. His work is included in public and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. He will exhibit mixed media paintings on canvas based on the California landscape and coast — colorful, with an abstract simplicity. During the 50 years he has been painting, landscape has remained largely the basis of his work. Nonetheless, his subjects range from figures and urban scenes to very abstract. For the Academy of Art University instructor, process, composition and feeling are really the subject.
