School of Fashion’s Caliber Recognized by Fashion World
Simon Ungless, Director of the School of Fashion at Academy of Art University, discussed with the San Francisco Chronicle how he assisted Gladys Perint Palmer, also the Director of Fashion at Academy of Art University, with reestablishing the program to the caliber it is at today. Christina Neault, executive producer of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, said she considers the Academy’s show one of the highlights of the week, saying that Ungless has an "innate ability to showcase students' designs in a clean, well-executed manner that rivals some of the most well-known fashion houses." That, "paired with his unparalleled experience as an industry professional, makes him a leader in fashion education," she said. "It's by far the best American fashion school, and one of the world's top fashion schools," said Elisa Palomino, the former head of studio at John Galliano and a former vice president of design at Diane von Furstenberg in New York. "The Academy is really well known by everyone."
