Erica Valponi earned her MA in Art History from Birkbeck University of London. Her thesis explores the iconography of the Virgin Immaculate in 15th century Italian altarpieces. While attaining her BA in Art History and Studio Art from Seattle Pacific University, Erica was able to experience Art History firsthand when she studied in Florence, Italy at Santa Reparata International School of Art. She is also enthusiastic about museum education and has been a Museum Educator for the special exhibitions at the De Young Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. In addition to teaching Art History, Erica teaches English for Art Purposes. As an Instructor at Academy of Art University, Erica loves the opportunity to bring together both her passion in language learning as well as art.
