Mark your calendars now for San Francisco’s most stylish night! Academy of Art University’s annual Graduation Fashion Show is the culminating event for students studying fashion design, textile design, knitwear design, menswear design, and jewelry and metal arts in the School of Fashion and School of Jewelry & Metal Arts. Over 2,000 guests attend each year, including buyers, and retailers, and members of the international press. The fast-paced show is directed by Simon Ungless, executive director of the School of Fashion, and is your opportunity to see the creativity and artistry of the Academy’s fashion students on full display.
This year’s Guest of Honor is fashion journalist Sarah Mower. Now Chief Critic at VogueRunway.com, Sarah has documented and analyzed fashion movements for Style.com, Vogue, British Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and multiple British newspapers. She lives in London and has overseen the development of a generation of designers including Christopher Kane, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, JW Anderson, Roksanda, Simone Rocha, Nicholas Kirkwood, Michael Halpern, and many others. Her role in raising the profile of the British fashion industry within the global community was recognized when she was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for services to the fashion industry. Sarah is the editor and author of London Uprising: Fifty Designers, 20 Years: Dolce & Gabbana, Chloé Attitudes, Gucci by Gucci, and Oscar de la Renta.
