Thank you for your interest in campus housing at Academy of Art University. Housing is guaranteed to all new students and continuing students who are new to campus housing.
At this time, all housing applications are processed online. In order to be eligible for housing, you must fulfill the following requirements:
Enroll as a full-time student (12 units undergraduate/9 units graduate for Fall and Spring semesters; 6 units undergraduate/6 units graduate for Summer semester; must take classes on site in San Francisco)
Fill out the online housing application
Electronically sign the Housing License Agreement
Pay $500 deposit online at time of application
Health insurance (all housing students are required to have health insurance)
Once you have applied online and paid your deposit, you will be emailed:
Instructions for self-selecting your bed space online; and
Designated window of time that self-assignment will be available.
*Housing and Residence Life reserves the right to close Self-Assignment and begin manual assignments before published closure dates, if needed.
Spring 2014 -- New students starting in Spring 2014
New UNDER 21 students: Self-Assignment OPENS on January 3, 2014 at 12:00pm (noon) PST
New OVER 21 students: Self-Assignment OPENS on January 6, 2014 at 12:00pm (noon) PST
Self-Assignment CLOSES for ALL students on January 10, 2014 at 5:00pm PST.
Once Self-Assignment is closed, any student without an assignment will be assigned by the Department of Housing & Residence Life.

Self Assignment dates for Summer 2014 housing and Fall 2014 – Spring 2015 will be available in late spring, 2014.
Current students (currently living on campus,who wish to continue living on campus Fall 2014-Spring 2015)
*Do not fill out a new housing application. During the designated General Room Selection dates in April 2014 (TBA), you will go online and select your space.
There will be a designated period of time (2-3 days) during which students can select their current space for next year, followed by a designated period of time (5-7 days) during which students can select a different space for next year.
IMPORTANT: After the General Room Selection dates, the housing process is CLOSED to current students.
