Since Academy of Art University’s art scholarships program was founded over 40 years ago, we have helped over 45,000 aspiring artists and designers pursue their educational goals. Academy of Art University offers a number of innovative and inexpensive ways for first-time students, high school students, and teachers to improve their skills and experience all that we have to offer.

Pre-College Programs
The Pre-College Art Experience (PCAE) provides intensive, no-tuition art and design courses to current high school students. Those students receiving a passing grade in their PCAE courses can also earn scholarship money toward their undergraduate degree at Academy of Art.

ROTC provides eligible full-time undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to earn a college scholarship while taking ROTC courses.

Mission

  • To recruit, educate, train, and inspire ROTC Cadets in order to commission officers of character for the Total Army.

Information

Eligible Academy of Art University students may qualify for:
Full or partial scholarship towards tuition
Yearly book stipend up to $1,200 per year
Monthly Stipend of $420

The Alumni Tuition Benefit supports all returning Academy alumni with a 20% tuition benefit off all courses and or additional degrees/certificates.

Award Information

  • This benefit is for the recipient only and not redeemable for cash. It may only be applied toward tuition expenses.

  • Applicant must have previously completed an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, Certificate or Award of Completion at Academy of Art University

SHARPEN YOUR SKILLS AND BUILD NEW ONES

The Art Educators Studio Program offers art educators TUITION-FREE art and design classes that enhance existing skills, teach new skills, and give art educators an opportunity to master the most up-to-date software artists use.

TUITION-FREE FREEDOM TO EXPLORE

The Academy’s Program offers a full tuition grant* for a maximum of one undergraduate class per semester in Spring, Summer, and Fall; each class is worth three units.

Art Educators may choose from the entire catalog of classes that do not have a prerequisite course listed.**
A class can be taken every semester to continuously grow skills while building a portfolio of work.

*Grant recipients are responsible for supplementary costs and fees, including a $50 administration fee, and any lab, materials, or other fees associated with individual classes, along with dorm costs if recipient chooses to live in Academy of Art University dorms.
**For interest in a class that does have a prerequisite, it may be possible to have the requirement waived. Please speak with an Academy counselor to determine qualification.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • This contest is open to all high school, college and university students enrolled during the time period of the contest in an academic program designed to conclude with the awarding of a diploma or a degree.
  • This contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, as well as American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. International students who have a student visa to attend school in the United States are considered legal residents and eligible.

Doodle for Google

Details: Doodle for Google is an annual art contest open to students in grades K-12. Students are invited to create their own Google Doodle for the chance to have it featured on Google.com, as well as win some scholarships and tech packages for them and their schools.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • All students must be enrolled in a U.S. based school (including homeschool) or a school in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and freely associated states, or The District of Columbia. Children of military personnel abroad can enter this year, and will be judged with applications from their home state.
  • Open to students in grades K-12.

HARD OF HEARING OR DEAF SCHOLARSHIP

Details: Sertoma’s Scholarship for the Hard of Hearing or Deaf, is the leading scholarship for hard of hearing or deaf students since the program’s inception in 1994. Students with clinically significant bilateral hearing loss, graduating from high school, or undergraduate students pursuing four-year college degrees in any discipline are eligible for the scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum 40dB bilateral hearing loss, as evidenced on audiogram by an SRT & PTA of 40dB or greater in both ears.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree on a full-time basis at a college or university in the United States – graduate degrees, associates degrees, community colleges, and vocational programs do not qualify.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 un-weighted scale.

Cashtelligent Financial Literacy Scholarship

Details: This scholarship is designed to encourage students to increase their financial literacy skills and adopt positive habits for managing their personal finances both in college and beyond.

  • There are no requirements for field of study.

Anne Ford Scholarship

Details: The Anne Ford Scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500/year over four years) granted to a graduating high school senior who will enroll in a full-time bachelor’s degree program in the fall. Students must have a documented learning disability (LD). Students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) who also have a learning disability, are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must have a learning disability to be eligible to apply.
  • Must be a graduating high school senior who will enroll in a full-time bachelor’s degree program in the Fall.

Greater Than Gatsby Scholarship

Details: Established by Greater Than Gatsby as part of a new initiative to establish a channel of support for the next generation, the Greater Than Gatsby Annual Scholarship supports the future of visual art and content creators.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be a recently accepted high-school student, undergraduate or graduate student from an accredited college/university in the United States.
  • You must be majoring in any type of art, communications, english, film, fine arts, journalism, multimedia, photography and visual arts.
  • You must be able to provide proof of your identity if you are chosen as the winner.  Qualified ID is a student id or driver’s license.

Rover Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You need to be a resident of the United States.
  • You must be a graduating high school senior or currently a freshman, sophomore, or junior in college in pursuit of an associates degree, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree. We reserve the right to verify date of high school graduation and/or university enrollment.
  • If you’re a graduating high school senior, your GPA must be 3.0 or above.
