CAMPUS HOUSING APPLICATION - 2014 SUMMER EXPO (ONLINE STUDENTS)

  • Check-in is from 10:00AM-9:00PM on Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd.
  • Check-out is from 9:00AM-3:00PM on Friday, June 27th, Saturday, June 28th, and Sunday, June 29th.
  • Summer Expo Online Students must be participating in the 2014 Summer Expo program from June 23rd through June 27th 9:00AM – 5:00PM, in order to be eligible for campus housing.
  • Application cancellation:
    • Summer Expo Online Students may cancel their housing application and receive a full deposit refund if they notify the Department of Housing in writing (housing@academyart.edu) by 5PM PST Friday, June 13, 2014.
    • Any cancellations received after 5PM on June 13th will result in a $100 cancellation fee.
    • Please make sure to provide your Full Name, Student ID Number, and that state that you would like to cancel your housing for the 2014 Summer EXPO program.

GUEST ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

I may bring one guest for an additional $360 charge.
My guest can be a spouse, family member or friend. If I bring a friend, he/she must be the same gender as I am.
My guest can't be a child under 18 years old.
My guest will be permitted to attend the 'Welcome' event Monday morning and any Expo events scheduled after 5PM.
My guest will NOT be permitted to attend any major specific events held between 9:00AM and 5:00PM.
For students bringing a guest, an $800 deposit is required to reserve 2 (two) spaces. An $80 refund will be issued to students with guests who leave their room free from damage.

CAMPUS HOUSING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

There are no private rooms and I may have a 1-2 roommates. (Roommates will be assigned by gender and major.)

Examples: Male +Game Design majors | Female +Fashion majors.

All rooms have twin-sized beds and it is very likely that they will be twin-sized bunk beds.
Most rooms have shared bathrooms, shared bathrooms down the hall, or one or two floors away.
There will be pillows, mattress pads, comforters or blankets, but I will need to bring:
  • 2-XL Twin sheets (flat & fitted) or a sleeping bag.
  • A standard size pillowcase.
  • Bath Linens - towels, hand towels, & washcloths.
  • Toiletries - soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.
  • Grooming Supplies - shavers, hair dryers, etc.
There are no kitchen facilities available.
Space is limited and is first come, first served.
For students attending solo, a $500 deposit is required to reserve a space (one) in Campus Housing. $140 will be refunded to those who attend solo and leave their room free from damage.

The deposit refund will take approximately eight weeks after Expo '14 to be processed. Refunds will be paid pending an assessment of the room for damages.
There will be a 100% refund for those cancelling before 5:00PM on June 13th. Any cancellations received after 5:00PM on June 13th will be issued a $100 cancellation fee.

Please note that your application is not completed and will not be processed without:

  1. A completed payment of the $500 Housing Deposit ($800 if you are bringing a guest).
  2. To pay the deposit, please call Accounts Receivable Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, at 415-618-6429.
  3. Be sure to tell them it is a deposit for Summer Expo 2014, otherwise your payment may be put towards your classes for the FA 2014 Semester in error.
  4. DO NOT use the Student-Self Service website to make your Expo Housing deposit or it WILL BE put towards your classes for the FA 2014 Semester.
  5. The Housing Deposit is an out of pocket expense which cannot be covered by financial aid.
  6. Registration for Campus Housing and registration for Summer Expo 2014 are 2 (two) separate forms. Please make sure you have submitted your registration for the Summer Expo: www.academyart.edu/EXPO14

Expo attendees will be required to abide by the AAU Campus Housing Guidelines, including no smoking, no alcohol, and no drug use permitted in any Campus Residence Hall. Any violations of Campus Housing Policies can result in removal from campus housing.
