Academy Grad is a Curbed Young Guns Semifinalist
School of Interior Architecture & Design’s Justine Zielinski has been named a Curbed Young Guns semifinalist. Curbed Young Guns aims to identify promising up-and-coming talent, under the age of 35, in the fields of architecture, interior design and urban development. After graduating from Academy of Art University with an MFA from the School of Interior Architecture & Design, Justine was blessed with the most no-muss-no-fuss job search imaginable. She sent her portfolio to a single firm: AvroKO, one of the biggest commercial and hospitality firms on the planet. Her very first project? A real-life version of what she had been creating at the Academy for the last few years. Justine, 26, was hired in March by AvroKO and has contributed to a Los Angeles project for restaurateur Michael Mina, the new Dropbox headquarters in San Francisco and the various parts of the Santa Anita Racetrack remodel. Now, she spends most of her time as Lead Designer on AvroKO's part in the redevelopment of Denver's Union Station, a $500M project master-planned by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
