Artists Revealed in Eighth-Annual 'Hearts in San Francisco' Series
San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (SFGHF) announced the 13 artists participating in the 2013 Hearts in San Francisco series – an annual public art exhibition that raises funds to support life-enhancing programs at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. Artists include Academy of Art University MFA grad Shilo Ratner, who is known for her abstracted figurative gestures that contemplate the psychological perplexities of self identity. School of Fine Art Sculpture grad Brit Howard is also included in this lineup. Brit’s heart is based on her passion for baseball, specifically the San Francisco Giants. Her art piece, “Heart of a Giant” replicates the concept of an arrow piercing a heart using a baseball, bat and a home plate. The heart features autographs from members of the 2012 and 2010 World Series Champion team winners. Both Academy of Art University grads are glad to be a part of a great cause.
