School of Fine Art Sculpture Chairman Participates in Carve San Francisco

The first ever international sand sculpture competition called Carve San Francisco, hosted by Hub Strategy, will have nine sculptors and their respective teams flown in from all over the world to create massive works of art from more than 400 tons of sand. Of the nine artists is Academy of Art University’s own Lawrence Noble, Chairman of the School of Fine Art Sculpture. Carve San Francisco will be held from October 15th-20th in the Presidio near Sports Basement and will include daily activities such as "Sandcastles & Schools" where Bay Area students in grades K-12 are invited to meet the artists and learn about the importance of ocean and beach preservation and restoration. The proceeds from this competition will benefit two local charities: the San Francisco Chapter of Surfrider Foundation and Sustainable Surf.
