Cinematography

The cinematography emphasis focuses on working effectively with various film and digital cameras, lenses and accessories. The cinematographer designs and executes creative lighting schemes and choices that serve the story as well as applying principles of composition and camera movement.

Directing

The directing emphasis guides a crew in preproduction, production, and postproduction to execute effective choices that serve the story. Directors elicit engaging and believable performances from actors.

The editor emphasis lays out the imagery and synchronizes the sound which may include voiceovers, the soundtrack or added sound effects. The editor also incorporates added visual effects, all culminating into the final presentation of a production.

Production Design

The production designer places emphasis on competently communicating design concepts through basic drawing skills, visualizing presentations, and effective designing of sets. Production designers collaborate with the cinematographer and director to develop a cohesive visual style and assembles and leads art department crews.

The producing emphasis focuses on supervising complex film projects from development through exhibition and ensuring delivery requirements have been met.

The screenwriting emphasis focuses on crafting a story through words which serve as instructions for how it will come to life on the screen. Whether for cinema, television or the web, screenwriting provides a script or blueprint that forms the core of a project.
