Cost of Attendance

The cost of attendance at Academy of Art University for full-time undergraduate and graduate students is estimated below. Also included are tuition payment options.

Graduate & Art Teaching Credential: $1,031 per unit – 3 units per class

Academy of Art offers many different ways to help you structure your payments, including installment plans and interest-free payment plans. Our account receivable representatives can walk you and your family through all of your options for financial assistance and payments. Credit Card

If you are paying by credit card, you can pay online by logging in to Student Self-Service. Payments can be made 24 hours a day.

Follow this path once you are logged-in to Student Self-Service:

Check

To pay by check, please:

  1. Make the check payable to Academy of Art University
  2. Write the student ID# on the check’s ‘Memo’ field for identification
  3. Mail the check to PO Box 742864 Los Angeles, CA 90074-2864
Cash

You can make cash payments in person at the Accounts Receivable Department on the 4th floor of the 150 Hayes St. building during normal business hours.

Installment Plan

Our installment plan is available to all students. The installment plan enables students to pay their tuition in four separate payments during the Fall and Spring semesters and two separate payments during Summer.

Students may also use the installment plan for any portion of their tuition not covered by their awarded financial aid. Installment plan agreement contracts and information regarding the Academy’s installment plan may be obtained from the Accounts Receivable office. The Accounts Receivable staff may assist the student with the completion of the required contract.

Students enrolled for Fall or Spring may submit an online application for our four-month installment plan contract and students enrolled for Summer may do it for our two-month installment plan contract. Go to Student Self Service and navigate to “My Educational Profile”, click on “Finances” link to apply online for the installment plan. A payment plan fee of $50.00 is due with the first installment.

Fall 2018 Payment Due Dates

  • 1st Installment (with $50 fee): Saturday, September 1, 2018
  • 2nd Installment: Monday, October 1, 2018
  • 3rd Installment: Thursday, November 1, 2018
  • 4th Installment: Saturday, December 1, 2018
Interest-Free Plans

In addition to our four-month installment plan, we also offer a pre-payment option. This option allows students and parents to pay in advance for a future term’s tuition and place the residual balance on our regular installment plan.

This money management method allows both students and parents to budget and finance their educational costs in advance, and lessen the financial burden as each semester begins.

If you are choosing to utilize the four-month installment plan in addition to pre-payments you have made, please advise your Accounts Receivable advisor at the time we assist you with the completion of the contract.

International Payments

Academy of Art University accepts all international payments via Flywire.

How to Make a Payment Online

  1. Go directly to academyart.flywire.com
  2. Enter amount to pay and select your home country.
  3. Select a payment option. Options can include bank transfer, credit cards, or other local payment options depending on the country selected
  4. Enter the required information for Academy of Art to initiate the payment
  5. Make payment to Flywire as instructed. Flywire will process and send your payment to Academy of Art with your information.
  6. Track your payment via email/text or via web. You will also be notified of when Academy of Art receives your payment.
