Degree Breakdown

The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) Degree- 63 Units

The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) is comprised of the following components:

Graduate Program Learning Outcome

Studio Courses 39 units
Directed Study 18 units
Academic Study 0 units
Electives 6 units
TOTAL 63 units


 Students enrolled in the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program will earn a total of 63 semester units of graduate course work with an overall cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0 in order to receive their degree. Students are also required to have a final review. A Petition to Graduate form will be filed by students prior to their last semester if they are to be eligible for graduation at the end of that semester. Students should contact their Student Advisor for detailed information regarding the petition period and deadlines.

The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) Degree- 102 Units

Formerly the Master of Fine Arts in Architecture (MFA) degree, The Master of Architecture (M.Arch) Degree is comprised of the following components:

Studio Courses 66 units
Directed Study 18 units
Academic Study 12 units
Electives 6 units
TOTAL 102 units

Students enrolled in the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) program will earn a total of 102 semester units of graduate course work with an overall cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.0 in order to receive their degree. Students are also required to have a final review.
