Jennifer Hansen's battle with depression, isolation and destruction has led to reoccurring themes prevalent throughout her dark art. Fascinated with cubism and geometry, these two elements are incorporated to create a broken, fragmented portrait. The paintings are done with graphite, charcoal and many translucent layers of oil. They express suffering and human depravity, all of which point to the need of the Savior. Upon graduating from Academy of Art in 2012, Hansen had been featured by Raw Artists, Juxtapoz and Gallery Nucleus. She also designed, 'Communication', which is a permanent installation designed for the Hotel Zetta in San Francisco, California.
