How to Apply

1. Complete an Academy of Art University application form.
   Application forms are available:
2. • In the back of our Catalog. Request a catalog with our online inquiry
   • Download an application here
   • By calling 800-544-2787 or 415-274-2219, or emailing 
3. Follow the instructions below to send in the completed application form and the $100 application fee (non-refundable).
4. Or submit your application online. This method requires payment by credit card.

Domestic Undergraduate & Graduate Students:

• Mail the completed application form and $100 application fee to:

• Or fax the completed application form to (415) 618-6287. Then mail the application fee to the address above.

International ^† Undergraduate & Graduate Students:

• Mail the completed application form, $100 application fee and $500 tuition deposit to:

^† International students include non-U.S. citizens, as well as U.S. permanent residents.

When to Apply

It is recommended that you apply as early as possible to ensure enrollment in all your classes.

• Apply all year round to enroll in classes for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• The Academy accepts applications through the first week of each semester.
• You may apply up to two years before you plan to enroll at the Academy.

Prospective Students in the Military

If you are in the US Armed Forces, either active or as a reserve, your Academy of Art University application fee will be waived. If you get called back to active duty during the middle of the semester or if you're active now and your military responsibilities do not allow you to continue studying, you will be eligible for a full refund of your tuition and fees paid during the semester.

Access for Disabled Students

Students who are disabled are invited to apply for admission to any program at the Academy of Art University. The Academy strongly recommends notifying the Office of Classroom Services as soon as possible to facilitate complete access to your education.
