Originally from South Florida, Meryl Pataky moved to San Francisco to attend Academy of Art University. There, she fell in love with the tactile nature of sculpture and pursued her degree in the major. Since her graduation, Pataky has shown at galleries throughout San Francisco and Los Angeles as well as participating in Art Basel fairs. The artist employs materials that are a part of the periodic table of elements: the noble gases of her neon work and silver and copper in her jewelry work. Each material the artist uses is either elemental or organic and is specifically chosen to highlight and tell a chronological story from their birthplace to their existence.
