Executive Director for the School of Game Development at Academy of Art University, David Goodwine and Game Design student, Shawn Lui were featured on the ABC7 story by David Louie on December 3, 2020.

The $26 billion dollar video game market keeps growing. Analysts project gaming is halfway through a 10-year growth spurt expected to create 31,000 jobs for game designers. The game industry creates jobs and economic outputs for adjacent industries. The Academy’s School of Game Development has played a big role in training students for this fast-paced and ever-growing career path.

During the interview, David commented “It used to be really glaring between film and games,” but “That line is going away. We have students right now that have gone through our program, and some of them are working at ILM (ILM is Industrial Light & Magic, the visual effects company that is part of Lucasfilm), and they’re working on films.”
