New Student To-Do List

We want your first semester at Academy of Art University to be the best time of your life. We pay special attention to our hybrid students—those taking both online and on-campus courses—making sure that each one has additional support during their first months at the university.

RSVP FOR FALL 2022 ON-CAMPUS NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION NOW!

Step 1: Prepare for Welcome Week

  • Get your student ID card at 620 Sutter (Lobby), Monday, August 15th – Friday, September 9th from 8 am to 5 pm or at 180 New Montgomery by calling 415-618-3911 for an appointment

Step 2: Get to know your Campus
  1. Campus Map
  2. Familiarize yourself with your Campus Safety resources and sign up for Campus Safety Text Alerts! To subscribe, please text: EZARTU to 313131. To opt out, please text: STOP EZARTU to 313131. *Message and data rates may apply.
  3. Learn the Campus Shuttle Map and Schedule:
    • In the CampusM Portal
    • On Campus: See the Courtesy Campus Shuttle kiosk in each academic building.
  4. Get Involved in Campus Life. Learn about events, clubs, and organizations.
  5. Visit the Academy of Art University Library.
  6. Support your teams: Art U Athletics “Fan Buses”
Step 3: Take the Launchpad to Online Learning class
  • Starting a week before the new semester. It’s listed in your classes on your Home page
  • Join the Online Student Community Facebook Group AAUHOO
  • Access your student ID in the CampusM Portal
  • Visit the How-To Library and learn how best to prep your files to submit your homework
Step 4: Manage your Finances
  • Select a Refund Preference!
  • Look out for a green envelope from BankMobile in the mail! Enclosed will be a unique personal code that you will need to take to www.refundselection.com to let the school know how you would like to receive any money you might be due in the future. If you did not receive it, contact Financial Aid (financialaid@academyart.edu or 415-618-6190) or Accounts Receivable (AR@academyart.edu or 415-618-6429) and we’ll have a code sent to you via email.
