Cultural Studies in London and Paris

About this course

Discover London and Paris through the lens of art to understand culture, history, regional identity, politics, and economics. You will conduct field-based research in neighborhoods, museums, cultural institutions, and architectural sites to examine how the production, patronage, and collection of art informs the cultural identity of two of Europe’s most influential cities. NOTE: LA 279 meets the undergraduate Cultural Ideas and Influences requirement. Students may also seek director approval to apply this course towards the undergraduate Art Historical Awareness requirement. (This course is cross-listed with GLA 909.)
