Trace the development of art and architecture from the Carolingian to the Gothic periods, focusing on the Gothic style and works from early Christianity, Byzantium, and Islam to explore the cross-cultural exchange of the time.

Dynamics 2: Fluids

Create visually appealing fluid simulations with Houdini software as seen from top visual effects production studios. You will learn how to simulate, light, shade, and render beautiful fluid visual effects using Houdini. (This course is cross-listed with ANM 344.)

Building Esports Experiences

Explore multiplayer free-to-play games and community event creation. Students engage in multiplayer games to understand their mechanics, community dynamics, and the structure of successful gaming events. Through practical application, critical analysis, research, teamwork and communication, students design gaming events to foster enjoyable experiences. (This course is cross-listed with LA 348.)

Art History Thesis – The Ancient World

Write an original thesis on the art/architecture of the Ancient World/Antiquity. You’ll independently craft a scholarly idea/argument on a subject/theme of your choice (from Ancient Greece, Rome, the Near East, Persia, or Eastern Asia), before writing a final thesis on the same topic with the support of a specialist advisor.
