About this course

Photography as a Visual Language introduces the foundational concepts, history, and practices that shape photographic seeing. Through a survey of light, composition, and the conceptual dimensions of the photographic medium, you will develop the visual literacy to read photographs critically and the artistic vocabulary to make work that communicates intentionally.

Prerequisites: One of the following: PH 103, PH 108, or MPT 159 (PH 108, PH 103, or MPT 159 may be taken concurrently.) [On campus English as a second language students must pass EAP level 3.]
